Venus, Aphrodite, the Goddess of Beauty...whatever you wish to call her...Venus is the planet which rules Taurus and the 2nd house in astrology. And from that we can surmise that Taurus and the 2nd house have something to do with "beauty".
What inspired me to write about this was picking the word card "Treasure Chest--Open it Up & Discover what is in Your's". What do you value enough to tuck away safe and protected to hold onto forever?? This is what Taurus energy represents.
Taurus energy goes along and collects things to hold onto memories...to make life's experiences tangible. We often want to cherish and hold onto things/memories that are beautiful. But we also hold onto to things that are "valuable" to us...this may also entail the darker side of this astrological sign. This can mean we hold onto things/memories that will provide us some perceived need (for one day some day down the line). People can carry a heavy load with them. People can value some (negative) experience because in some (distorted) way it is gives the person something of value. When they need to call up that experience...it is sitting right there in their Treasure Chest. The memory, although it doesn't serve them in a healthy way, it offers them a sense of self-worth...it is from that idea of themselves which they build their self-esteem and self-definition...it serves as a cornerstone to their personal foundation.
The 2nd house is our Foundation, our self-worth, our core values...and of course, it wants to be comfortable and physically secure/safe. This morning after picking my card I wrote a quick list...whatever came spontaneously into my mind and I wrote it down. I compared this list to what I wrote down just a few months ago. I was intrigued how what I wrote down this morning was significantly different from just a few months ago. I still appreciate and enjoy what I wrote down months ago, BUT my emphasis has shifted from the external, tangible world to internal traits that give me value. An example is a few months ago I placed in my "Treasure Chest" an appreciation of a good cup of morning coffee and today the first item on my list was Internal Peace, peace of mind. Both examples in their own way give my life it's form and definition. They state something which I value and find important or appreciate.
After contemplating a bit over this discovery I realized that as one makes a change in their life, after making a life choice to move for example, that this may alter what in your Treasure Chest. Occasionally we need to open up our personal Treasure Chest to peer inside and check out what we are actually carrying around day after day. Do we still value that T-shirt we wore back in college 20 years ago? Does it still hold the same meaning as it did back then? Do we still value, put worth to, following the crowd in order to be accepted and part of the consensus?
What gives your life meaning? What kind of things describe what you place importance on? What do you find beautiful? What do you appreciate enough to store away in order to offer a sense of security and foundation to stand upon?
Open up your Treasure Chest today and find out what you have packed inside of it.
